Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Upper age limit is 28 years on the cut-off date mentioned. However, age relaxation is applicable under the following categories: 

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years 
  • SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: 5 years 
  • Lectureship (Assistant Professor): For this category, there is no upper age limit 

Nationality 

The CSIR NET Physical Science test is only open to Indian citizens. Other candidates from outside India or with overseas citizenship are not allowed to attempt the test.
